Armadale is one of Melbourne’s most elegant suburbs, celebrated for its High Street boutiques, cafés, and renowned bridal couture houses. With its mix of lifestyle and wellness, it’s a destination where many come to invest in their health and appearance. Conveniently located near Armadale Station and major tram lines, our clinic is easily accessible for residents of Malvern, Toorak, Prahran, Elsternwick, Brighton, and surrounding areas.

At Colon Irrigation Melbourne, we have been providing colon hydrotherapy since 1999. Our purpose-built Armadale clinic provides a private and professional environment where clients can enjoy open-system colonics designed for comfort, discretion, and overall well-being.

What Is Colonic Hydrotherapy?

Colonic hydrotherapy, sometimes called a colonic or colon cleanse, is a gentle practice that uses warm, filtered water to support natural elimination. While the terms may differ, the purpose is the same:
• Colon hydrotherapy highlights the therapeutic focus.
• Colonic cleansing connects with detox and renewal.
• Colonics is the everyday word most clients use.

No matter which term you prefer, the goal is to encourage improved digestion and a lighter, more balanced feeling.

Colonics in Armadale: Melbourne’s Prestigious Wellness Destination

Open vs Closed Colonics — Understanding the Difference

Not all colonics are the same. There are two main systems used across Melbourne:

Closed System Colonics

  • A therapist inserts and holds a larger speculum in place for the duration of the session.
  • Water flow and waste release are manually controlled through tubing connected to a machine.
  • Some clients find this method more clinical or invasive because the practitioner must remain in the room throughout.
  • Closed systems may be suitable for people with mobility restrictions who cannot self-insert or who prefer a therapist-led procedure.

Open System (LIBBE)

  • You privately insert a small, pencil-thin nozzle yourself and recline on a comfortable bed.
  • Warm, gravity-fed water flows gently into the colon while waste passes naturally into a ventilated basin, without odour.
  • You stay covered and in control, with a therapist nearby for guidance if needed.
  • Many describe this as a gentler, more dignified, and less intrusive experience.

Closed-system colonics are available in surrounding areas, yet many Armadale clients choose our LIBBE open system for its privacy, independence, and natural flow.

Why We Use the LIBBE Open System

At our Armadale wellness centre, we use the open system of colonic irrigation. This approach is known for being:

  • Gentle and natural — Gravity-fed water flows softly, without pressure or suction.
  • Private and discreet — You remain covered and in control, with a therapist nearby for assistance if needed.
  • Comfortable for beginners — Many first-time clients find the open system less clinical and more calming (FAQs).
  • Positive Experiences — Clients often describe feeling lighter, clearer, and more energised after a session.
