COLONIC IRRIGATION
ABOUT US
A calmer, more private way to reset—just a short trip from home.
Bentleigh has a rhythm of its own. Weekend markets, school runs, Centre Road cafés, that quick train into the city when you need it. However, even a well-run week can leave you feeling weighed down. Suppose you’re noticing that bloated, “nothing sits quite right” feeling, or you simply want a practical reset before a healthier stretch. In that case, our open-system colonic irrigation at the Armadale clinic is a gentle, low-key way to start.
We’ve supported Melbourne clients for decades with an emphasis on privacy, comfort, and informed guidance. No hype, no pressure, just a calm room, purified water at body temperature, and a process that puts you in control.
1. Privacy that reduces awkwardness.
The open system is designed to feel more like a wellness appointment than a clinical procedure. You self-insert a small, pencil-thin nozzle (with clear instructions and plenty of time), and the release happens discreetly into a ventilated basin. A practitioner is nearby if you want reassurance, but you set the pace.
2. A session that fits real life.
From Bentleigh, reaching Armadale is straightforward. Choose High Street or Malvern Road depending on traffic, or pair your booking with errands on the way. Sessions typically run 45–60 minutes, which makes it easy to slot in before school pick-up or after a morning walk.
3. Experience you can feel.
Longevity matters. We’ve been caring for clients since 1999, and it shows in the way we explain options, answer questions without rushing, and help you make practical choices about frequency and after-care.
4. Wellness, simplified.
If you enjoy a ritual, you can pair colonics with an infrared sauna, or choose from herbal, coffee, or alkaline irrigations as a personal preference. If you prefer minimalism, a straightforward colonic is all you need.
Colonic irrigation (also called colonic, colon cleanse, or colon hydrotherapy) gently introduces purified, body-temperature water to encourage the colon to release built-up waste and gas. On the open system, the water is gravity-fed (not pressurised), and you remain in control throughout. Clients describe the experience as quiet, private, and surprisingly relaxing, more “spa-like” than clinical.
Common reasons Bentleigh clients book:
We don’t make medical promises. Your body is unique; consider a colonic as support, not a cure-all.
Open vs closed colonics—how the experience differs
Both open and closed systems aim for the same outcome: hydrotherapy of the colon. The experience is what sets them apart.
1. Insertion
2. Control & privacy
3. Water flow
Bentleigh clients who feel nervous often prefer the independence and quiet of the open system. If you’re unsure, we’ll talk you through both styles and help you choose what feels safest and most comfortable.
Your first visit—what actually happens
1. Arrival & orientation
We’ll greet you, answer questions, and show you how the room works, devices, sanitisation, how to position yourself comfortably, and what “normal” feels like during a session. There’s no rush; clarity comes first.
2. Private set-up
You’ll have privacy to prepare and self-insert the nozzle with lubricant. Use the time to breathe, settle your shoulders, and let the room’s quiet do its work.
3. Gentle, gravity-fed cleansing
Water at body temperature flows gently. You can pause, continue, or change position in small ways that support natural release. Most people find that a slow breathing pattern and a relaxed abdomen are all that’s needed.
4. After the session
Give yourself a few minutes to finish releasing and compose yourself. Many people report feeling lighter, less bloated, and calmer. The sort that makes an early night feel perfect. We’ll share simple after-care guidance: hydrate, keep meals light, and pay attention to how you feel.
A Bentleigh-friendly routine (that actually sticks)
A single colonic can feel wonderfully resetting. For many, the best results happen when it slots into an uncomplicated routine rather than being a one-off “big gesture.”
Frequency: Some first-timers try 2–3 sessions fairly close together to build momentum, then switch to maintenance monthly, or around travel and seasonal changes. There’s no single formula; we’ll help you find a cadence that respects your time and budget.
Before & after care
The day before & day of your session
After your session
If anything feels unusual afterwards or if you have questions, please call us, as reassurance is an essential part of good care.
Is colonic irrigation right for you?
Colonics are gentle and non-surgical, but they’re not for everyone. People with certain medical conditions (for example, severe inflammatory bowel disease, recent abdominal surgery, active bleeding, pregnancy, and other listed contraindications) should not book. If you’re unsure, speak with your healthcare professional first. We’re happy to explain the practicalities so you can make an informed decision.
What makes our clinic different (in clients’ words)
Frequently asked questions
1. Will it hurt?
Most clients describe the experience as gentle. Body temperature, gravity-fed water, plus time to breathe, make the process surprisingly calm.
2. Will I need the bathroom later?
Releases happen during the session. We give you time to finish and settle before you leave. Most people are fine to continue with their day.
3. Can I work out afterwards?
Keep it gentle the same day. If you feel sleepy and relaxed, consider taking a walk and going to bed early. Save intense training for the next day.
4. Do I need to change my diet forever?
No rigid rules. Start with hydration and slightly lighter meals for a day or two; if that feels good, continue with the best parts. Sustainable beats extreme.
