COLONIC IRRIGATION
ABOUT US
St Kilda has always been Melbourne’s playground by the bay. When you picture St Kilda, it’s easy to think of the beach on a sunny afternoon, the smiling face at Luna Park, or the foreshore filled with runners, cyclists, and walkers enjoying the sea breeze. It’s a suburb where lifestyle meets leisure, and where health and wellbeing are part of everyday living.
If you’re based in St Kilda and searching for a trusted colonic clinic, our purpose-built Armadale centre is less than 15 minutes away. Clients often tell us the short trip is well worth it for the professionalism, comfort, and care they receive here.
Why People from St Kilda Choose Our Armadale Centre
What Is Colonic Irrigation?
Colonic irrigation, also known as colon hydrotherapy, is a gentle wellness practice that utilises warm, purified water to cleanse the colon. The aim is to help release built-up waste, gas, and toxins, allowing the digestive system to function more smoothly.
Clients often report benefits like:
It’s like having a reset button for your system, allowing you to return to enjoying your active St Kilda lifestyle without discomfort holding you back.
Open-System vs Closed-System Colonics
Not all colonics are the same. The two main methods are the closed system and the open system (LIBBE).
Closed system
In this approach, the therapist inserts and holds a large speculum in place for the duration of the session. They control the water flow and manage when waste is released through tubing connected to a machine. While effective, many find it more invasive and uncomfortable, as the practitioner must remain present throughout. Closed systems may be suitable in certain cases — such as for people with physical restrictions that make self-insertion difficult, or for those needing extra support.
Open system (LIBBE)
With the LIBBE device, the client inserts a small, pencil-thin nozzle themselves, reclines on a comfortable bed, and remains in control of water flow and release. Waste is passed naturally into a ventilated basin with no odour. The therapist is nearby for reassurance but does not need to operate the device directly. Many describe this as a gentler, more private, and less intrusive experience.
Closed-system colonics are offered in surrounding areas, yet many St Kilda locals prefer travelling to Armadale for the independence and comfort of the open system.
Why We Use Open System Colonic Irrigation
Our clinic is equipped with the LIBBE open system, which many clients find more comfortable than closed colonic treatments.
