Colon Irrigation (also known as colonics, colon hydrotherapy or colon cleansing) is a valuable procedure used to assist the body in restoring vibrant health and preventing disease. It may assist in helping many health conditions including constipation, bloating, sluggish bowel movement, low immune system, poor digestion, irritability, depression and skin problems.
Our clinic, located near Middle Park offers Colon irrigation which serves as a great kick start to any weight loss or cleansing program. A colon hydrotherapy session hydrates the colon and exercises the colon’s natural movement which aids in the removal of waste and toxins that have accumulated in the colon. A safe and gentle internal bath. Warm filtered gravity fed water is infuse into the colon for 45-60 minutes.
The treatment consists of purified water entering the colon which you then gently release. This is performed several times for the duration of the session.
You will be in a private room, instructed how to insert a pencil thin disposable tube by yourself and you will be completely covered. Our therapists will be close by allowing you privacy at all times. The session takes place in a relaxing private room with soft lighting and ambient music.
We maintain the highest level of hygiene which includes disposable equipment and unit sterilisation. We use the most up to date safe gravity fed Open system colonic device.
We usually recommend between 3 and 6 sessions with no more than a 24-hour break between each session for a proper bowel cleanse. The amount of sessions needed can be reduced by going on a ‘juice fast/diet: soups, broths, juices and smoothies’ for 3 or more days prior to your 1st session thus replacing the solid matter in your colon with liquid.
We recommend that no food be consumed 2 hours before your treatment, however, plenty of water or raw vegetable juices are great for hydrating and softening faecal matter.
If possible, avoid processed food, breads, alcohol, caffeine and refined sugars for a couple of days leading up to your colonic treatment.
Most people remark on how clean & light they feel. 'Like I just took a bath on the inside!' Increased energy and feelings of well-being are the common responses. It is ok to eat after a treatment however we suggest that you consume a moderate amount of whatever seems gentle and nourishing to you. Just as it does not make sense to have your car cleaned and then drive it through mud, eating a meal known to cause trouble in your abdomen directly after a colonic is not an intelligent choice. Salads, vegetable soups or broths, fruit, or juices are the best choice. Avoid red meat, heavy meals, fizzy drinks and nuts.
